Accessibility
Some of the work here was done because health apps are unusually bad at it. This page says what exists, and what does not yet.
Reading
A real dyslexia mode, not a font toggle
Praana has a dedicated accessibility screen rather than a single switch. You can pick a hyperlegible typeface, adjust letter spacing and line spacing independently, scale reading size, and switch to a warmer tint that takes the glare off long text.
The fonts download on demand rather than shipping in the app, so the download stays small for people who do not need them.
Language
89 languages, translated on demand
Nine languages are bundled. The rest are translated on request, once, and cached on the device, so you are not waiting on a network call every time a screen opens.
Right-to-left languages -- Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Urdu -- get a properly mirrored layout, not just reversed text. Chevrons, offsets, charts and gradients all flip.
You can also pick formality, a regional variant, and whether numbers use native digits.
Platform
What comes from the operating system
- Dynamic Type on iOS and system font scaling on Android are respected throughout.
- Screens are built with the platform's own components, so VoiceOver and TalkBack read them.
- Reduced-motion settings are honoured: the animated transitions stop when the system says to.
- Tap targets follow the platform minimum.
Hands free
Voice where it matters most
Workouts can be logged entirely by voice, hands-free, because mid-set is exactly when a touchscreen is useless. Voice features are enabled per language rather than pretending to work in all of them.
Honest
What still needs work
- Praana has not been formally audited against WCAG 2.1 or tested with a panel of assistive-technology users. The work was done carefully; it has not been independently verified.
- Some charts convey information through colour alongside shape. They are readable, but colour is doing more work than it should.
- This website is simpler than the app and has had less attention. If something here is unusable, that is worth an email.
- Screen reader labelling has been checked screen by screen but not by someone who uses a screen reader daily.
If something in Praana or on this site is hard to use, write to support@orinthia.app. Specific beats polite: naming the screen and what went wrong gets it fixed faster. See also support.
